Assembly is now available in ChatGPT & Claude

If more of your work is happening inside AI tools, you now can connect your Assembly client management directly into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and more.

The Assembly MCP connects your Assembly workspace to the AI tools you already use, allowing that AI tool to read from and act on your Assembly workspace — your clients, companies, invoices, messages, tasks, forms, files, and more. You ask in chat; it does the work in Assembly.

Learn how to install Assembly into ChatGPT and Claude.

What you can do with the Assembly MCP

Start simple. These are single actions, done in a sentence:

  • "Look up Acme Corp and show me their details."
  • "Create a task for myself called 'Quarterly review' and summarize what we just discussed in the description."
  • "Draft an invoice for John Doe for $5,000 of marketing services, due in 30 days."

Then go further. Try these questions, bulk actions, and intelligent summaries or insights into your clients:

  • "Which clients have an invoice overdue by more than 30 days?"
  • "Draft a payment reminder for every client with an overdue invoice, and show me before sending."
  • "Brief me on Acme Corp before my call — recent messages, internal notes, open tasks, and anything outstanding."
  • "What are the most common questions we've gotten from clients this month?"

Describe the outcome and your AI tool compiles it from your real Assembly data.

Privacy and control for your client data

Because this connects external AI to real client data, we have updated our privacy policy and AI usage policy. You should always check your other AI provider’s data policies when working with AI tools and sensitive client data. Things we do to help you control your data:

  • Permissions scoped to your workspace. The connection only reaches your Assembly workspace — and only the data and actions you could already access yourself.
  • Only Assembly admins can connect. Your clients never see it and don't need to do anything.
  • Most actions that make changes to your workspace preview before they run. Your AI tool shows you the request before it sends, so you review before you confirm.
  • Destructive actions require explicit confirmation. Deletions are flagged and asked for by name — and because deletes aren't recoverable, nothing is removed without your say-so.
  • Disconnect anytime from your AI tool's settings or from Assembly, and access ends immediately.
